The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is an operational arm of the United Nations, supporting the successful implementation of its partners’ peacebuilding, humanitarian, and development projects around the world. UNOPS provides project management, procurement, and infrastructure services to governments, donors, and UN organizations. In 2016, UNOPS had up to 1000 active projects worldwide, was active in more than 80 countries around the world, and implemented more than USD 1.4 billion of projects.

In Yemen, UNOPS has operated since 2013, with a focus on providing project management services, operational support, and HR transactional services. Currently, UNOPS provides support to the Office of the Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Yemen to operationalize the activities related to the peace talks. UNOPS is also operating and managing the UN Verification and Inspection Mechanism for Yemen, on behalf of the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the Government of Yemen, and the concerned Member States.
